Esta es la foto que hemos escogido este año como felicitación navideña, ¿A que estamos guapos? El paisaje también es bonito, cosa que ayuda, para qué engañarnos.

Esta actualización es un poco tramposilla, poco textos y mucha foto porque básicamente lo que nos apetecía hacer es presumir un poco de los paisajes que disfrutamos en la que ha sido nuestra casa durante los últimos dos años.

Esto es la curva que rodea Bennett’s Bluff donde está el famoso mirador de la Glenorchy Road, siempre con turistas haciendo fotos.

Esto es la zona de Paradise, detrás del Mount Alfred en el valle del río Dart. Aquí se han rodado escenas del Señor de los Anillos, El Hobbit y del último videoclip de Taylor Swift.

De vez en cuando algo raro pasa en el cielo y tenemos nubes que dan miedo.

Y otras parece que el cielo se cubra de bolitas de algodón de azúcar.

Aquí llueve muy a menudo, pero también hace sol muy a menudo. Cuando ocurre todo al mismo tiempo tenemos un Arco Iris uniendo las orillas del lago.

Los atardeceres son sosillos por aquí en general, pero cuando tenemos uno bueno… es bueno de verdad.

Y los mejores vienen siempre después de las tormentas de arena que se producen en el valle del Dart después de un corrimiento de tierras que ocurrió el año pasado.

Y nuestra vista favorita, desde la cima del Mount Alfred.

Vamos a dejar de presumir ya, que nos cogen ganas de ir de excursión.

OTAGO LANDSCAPES

This is the picture we’ve chosen for our Christmas postcard. Don’t we look good? The landscape is quite nice too, that helps, right?

This is actually a cheating post because there is hardly text but lots of pictures instead. Basically, to make a point and show off the wonderful landscape around the place we’ve been calling home for the last two years.

That the bend in Bennet’s Bluff where the famous Glenorchy Road lookout is, there’re always tourists taking pictures here.

This area is called Paradise and it’s behind Mount Alfred in the valley of the Dart. Lots of scenes of the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit and the last Taylor Swift’s video have been shot here.

Sometimes, something strange happens and we have very scary clouds.

Other times the sky looks like it’s been covered with candy floss balls.

It rains a lot here, but the sun shines also very often. When both happen at the same time, we get a rainbow that joins the shores of the lake.

Sunsets are not generally that great here, but when we have a good one it turns out to be really good.

The best ones usually come after a sand storm coming from the valley of the Dart river. These storms happen after a land slide that took place a few years ago.

We should better stop that before we decide to drop everything and go for a hike.
